Sprinters are encouraged to develop enough hip flexor capacity to enable them to consistently raise the “up” knee high enough so that the foot is even with the “down” knee. Use of the “Swinger” in the 12” setting can help the young athlete do this and learn to keep good posture, with heel under butt and foot strike under knee. Other training equipment gets easily knocked out of place (banana type hurdles) or knocked over easily (foam hurdle). Give the “Swinger” a try and you will experience less of this in practice! The first information you may have received, in December 2008, shows “Swinger” #1, on which I had just received a patent. This flyer is about “Swinger” #2 – with significant improvements, after the 2008-2009 season. We learned about areas that needed better construction, but at the same time, retained the basic design. The “Swinger” was used at least 2 days every practice week by High School athletes, beginners and experienced team members. We are now ready to demonstrate possible uses of the “Swinger”, to any customer within 100 miles of Frederick, MD, or for a larger group meeting of potential customers, (i.e. a county P.E. and/or athletic in-service training day). A minimum number, in this second category would be 6 schools and/or clubs. I have coached 38 high school state champion hurdlers in Maryland, 18 male and 20 female, and, as you well know, they had to be sprinters first! Good Luck in 2009 Dwight Scott SPECIAL FEATURES TOTAL WEIGHT - 6 POUNDS - FITS IN A 36" LANE. IDEAL LOWER HEIGHT OF 13.5" FOR OPEN SPRINT TRAINING AND BEST HEIGHT OF 24" FOR BEGINNING HURDLERS.
